I did participate in the fabulous Ravelympics this year, thought I'm a solid month behind in posting about it.
I opted for a yarn and pattern that had been in my stash for a bit, and had intimidated me from the get-go. The yarn? A bit of Zephyr from the Tangled Skeins Boxing Day sale. The pattern? Peacock Feathers from last fall's trip to Rosie's Yarn Cellar in Philly. I bought the pattern, spread out the charts on a tables, got the ever-loving sh1t scared out of me, and packed the works up for a rainy day.
That rainy day happened to be the start of Ravelympics.
I would call this project more of a marathon than a sprint. While not devilishly difficult, it was a real commitment in time and brain power. There was far too much made of the reversing of charts after the centre line, which was actually completely intuitive.
I worked this one exactly as written, starting the morning after the opening ceremonies and blocking with a day to spare.
Did someone say photos?
Off to polish my medal. Have a great weekend!

Woot, it's gorgeous!! Congratulation on the finish!

Absolutley gorgeous shawl - Peacock Feathers is my favorite Fiddlesticks shawl and has been in my "to make" stack of patterns for about 4 years.

Okay, you're the second person I've run across in two days who is also making this shawl (the Yarn Harlot is the other). I started this shawl in July and hope to have it finished in the next couple of weeks. It's a gift for my mom's 60th birthday. Yours is gorgeous!
